The Man vs. The 24 Hours Poster
The 24 Hours of Le Mans is a battle between man (and his machine) against time.
Because the Circuit de la Sarthe is relentless and unpredictable, transforming what seems like just one day (24 hours) into an eternity that leads the men and women who dare to race on its track to glory or to hell.
This print captures what is probably the most magical moment Le Mans offers spectators, but which, at the same time, represents the calm before the storm of the night: sunset.
For it is at dusk, with a race (so to speak) barely begun, that the human beings who annually dare to drive one of the race cars circulating on La Sarthe begin their peculiar descent into the underworld of endurance.
It is that precise moment, that tense calm, that we have captured in this design, with few details, but which captures the essence of this race: a car approaching the Mulsanne Straight after descending from the Dunlop Bridge hill, a forest beginning to surround it, and a sun starting to abandon the driver to his fate during the long and difficult night.
A human alone with his machine facing his destiny. A horizon darkening before him. In short, man against the 24 hours.
