Barcelona, the cradle of Spanish motorsports

Formula 1 and motorsports as a whole maintain a very special relationship with Spain and, particularly, with Barcelona. The Spanish Grand Prix is one of the oldest in the F1 championship, with more than 50 editions to its name, many of which have been held in Barcelona at its circuits in Pedralbes, Montjuïc and Montmeló.

Thus, in our design for the Barcelona Grand Prix, we have tried to unite the long history that Barcelona and all of Spain have with Formula 1.

In the foreground, a single-seater car is heading down the main straight of the Circuit Barcelona-Catalunya, with the main grandstand, the timing scoreboard, the control tower, and the garages on each side as the most recognizable elements of the track. In the background, an idealized profile of the city of Barcelona is shown, which will be recognized by all those who have visited or reside there: the Mapfre and Arts towers, the Glòries tower, the Sagrada Familia, the Telefónica Tower, the Collserola tower, and the Sagrat Cor of Tibidabo. All of this is topped by a vermilion sun, reminding us of its friendship with Spanish soil, and especially with the Mediterranean coasts.

On the other hand, on the chest, the "Montmeló x Montdebó" typography and the typical filigree of this art stand out due to their modernist characteristics, uniting the flags of Barcelona, Catalonia, and Spain, which could perfectly adorn any building in the Catalan city.

Finally, the scene is topped with some typically modernist characters (with which the Grand Prix and its most characteristic details are announced, as well as the town and province that host it) with which we evoke the cultural essence of Barcelona.

If you are Spanish, and specifically Catalan, very likely your baptism into the world of racing was at the Circuit de Montmeló. This t-shirt is a unique piece to pay tribute to the temple of Spanish motorsports.
