Kaiser: The German Formula 1 steamroller
The “Kaiser” T-shirt is inspired by Michael Schumacher. It’s a garment that takes us to a parallel universe where the Kaiser was a footballer rather than a racing driver.
It is a key piece in our “Legends” collection—and it couldn’t be otherwise. The second most decorated driver in Formula 1 history deserved a tribute from us.
This T-shirt is defined by two main elements: its colors and the interplay of diamond and triangular shapes in which those colors are arranged across the design.
Starting with the color palette, the black, yellow, and red are no coincidence. They represent the German flag, the banner of the great Michael. These colors are laid out in diamond and triangular forms, inspired by some of the iconic kits from the USA ’94 Football World Cup.
But it’s not just the colors and their shapes that give the T-shirt its character. The polo-style collar with a button and the word “Kaiser,” subtly repeated across the entire fabric, evoke the most iconic era of football kits from the 1980s and 1990s.
Continuing with the subtle details, on the right sleeve, in black, appears a message through which many of us continue to remember Michael, wishing him strength to keep fighting and to enjoy the company of his family and friends: #KeepFightingMichael.
On the left sleeve, you’ll find another of the T-shirt’s most important details: a patch featuring the seven Formula 1 World Championship trophies, displayed as if they were European Cups won by a football club.
On the chest, the “Kaiser” sponsor dominates, rendered in a typeface iconic in Formula 1 history and referencing the nickname by which the German legend became known throughout his career. This nickname also gives the T-shirt its name and recalls the relentless force Michael became at Grands Prix during his golden era between 2000 and 2004.
On the back, his surname Schumacher appears alongside the number of a true champion: 1. We chose this number because a legend like him, on a T-shirt like this, deserves to wear the number of champions.
Finally, no explanation of the design would be complete without mentioning the embroidered crest of the fictional team we created: Associazione Football 1 Fiamma (or simply AF1F). It features the head of a black horse on a yellow background, along with the founding year of this fictional football club: 1929.
In short, our “Kaiser” T-shirt, from the “Legends” collection, is our most heartfelt tribute to the golden era of Formula 1 led by the extraordinary German driver we miss so deeply.
